Randal Teague was born in Durham, NC then raised in Chapel Hill and the Gulf Coast of Florida.
He first studied marine botany but then shifted to law. He received his BA from American University and JD and LLM with highest honors from George Washington University, both in Washington, DC. He received his LLD from Allen University in Columbia, SC in recognition of his work on a particular civil rights issue; he also received a DHL from EARTH University, in Costa Rica, for his service to that agricultural university globally focused on environmental sustainability.
Teague has practiced international trade, finance, and development law, allowing him to travel for hard work and/or distinct cultures in 109 countries. He was observing religious faiths and their absences in each. His four adult children refer to him as “the Energizer Bunny” because he never slows down.
