Larry Axelrood

Larry Axelrood is a former judge, prosecutor, and criminal defense attorney. He is also the author of three published novels—The Advocate, Plea Bargain, and Death Eligible—each of which explores the ethical and moral questions faced when ambition intersects with law, politics, and crime.
As a writer, Axelrood presents authentic, nuanced, realistic characters who struggle to navigate complex issues in the criminal justice system today and, using his decades of experience, evokes an appreciation of the challenges inherent in obtaining real justice in our courts. His books received positive reviews in a range of publications including the Washington Post and the Chicago Sun-Times.
Axelrood is a graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law and is currently a mediator and arbitrator. He lives with his family in the suburbs of Chicago.
