Jason Belcher is an Iraq Veteran who served on active duty as an officer in the U.S. Air Force for ten years. He later worked as a defense analyst for SAIC supporting U.S. Forces Afghanistan and the International Security Assistance Force, and as the senior intelligence analyst for Target’s Corporate Command Center at Target Global Headquarters. He is the recipient of the Iraq Campaign Medal, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border, U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the National Defense Medal. He holds a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy State University and a Bachelor of Arts in History with departmental honors from the University of Kentucky. He worked on a PhD in International Relations for four years at the University of Oklahoma. He is also a graduate of U.S. Air Force Officer Training School, Squadron Officer School, Air Combat Command Leadership Training, Standing Joint Force Headquarters System of System Analysis Course, and Leadership East Kentucky. He was named company grade officer of the year for the 349th RCS in 2004 and 2005. His publications have appeared in Air & Space Power Journal, The Washington Times, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Lexington Herald Leader, and the Appalachian News Express.
