Elizabeth Humphreys

Elizabeth Humphreys is a writer, speaker, and the founder and executive director of Mind What Matters, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting family caregivers through respite grants and mental health resources. After spending thirteen years caring for her mother through Alzheimer’s disease, Elizabeth transformed her experience into a mission to help others facing the impossible demands of caregiving. Through her nonprofit, speaking engagements, and podcast, she has supported hundreds of caregivers across more than forty states while advocating for greater recognition of the emotional and mental health toll of caregiving. Her work has connected families with practical resources, compassionate support, and the reassurance that no one should have to navigate Alzheimer’s alone.

A Louisiana native turned New England transplant, she brings a distinctive voice that blends southern storytelling warmth with a northeastern no-nonsense edge. Her work is grounded not in academic theory but in lived experience.
