Curtis Malone is one of the most influential figures in grassroots basketball. In 1993, he co-founded DC Assault, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young men ages seven through seventeen in their pursuit of basketball dreams and academic achievement.
Under Curtis’s leadership, DC Assault helped over two hundred young men earn full college scholarships, with more than a dozen going on to careers in the NBA and NFL. Many others found success playing professionally or thriving in other professional fields.
In 2013, Curtis was convicted of drug conspiracy and served seven years of an eight-year sentence. Since his release, he has committed himself to mentoring youth by sharing his story and lessons learned. Curtis’s ability to connect with and inspire young people has fueled his success as a speaker, engaging communities and academic institutions across the country.
Curtis is now a partner at CampusVR, a tech company and a partner and advisor at Good Favor Sports.
